The iconography is highly symbolic, reflecting his role in maintaining cosmic order and providing protection. SIGNIFICANCE:
Upper Right Hand - Sudarshana Chakra (Discus): Represents the cosmic mind, the wheel of time, and his power to destroy evil and uphold dharma (righteousness).
Upper Left Hand - Panchajanya Shankha (Conch Shell): Represents the primordial sound (Om) from which the universe emerged, as well as the five elements of nature.
Lower Right Hand - Abhaya Mudra / Gada (Mace): Frequently held in the Abhaya Mudra gesture, signifying fearlessness, protection, and reassurance for his devotees. Alternatively, it may hold the Gada, representing supreme strength, knowledge, and the power of time.
Lower Left Hand - Padma (Lotus) / Gada: Often holding an open lotus flower, symbolizing spiritual enlightenment, purity, and the unfolding of the universe.
